Firstly, we would like to thank you for the response to last week’s fashion post! We are super grateful and so glad you enjoyed it!
Today, we are bringing you part 2 of fashion trends that originated/were popularized by the black community. We have been reading your comments and suggestions. With this, we want to go back to the history of some iconic trends in the fashion world, and give credit to the community that popularized them.
Please be respectful in the comments. We know that many societies and communities have also worn these trends, but we cannot continue to ignore the influence that the black community has had on western culture and fashion. Despite this influence, they are still often under-credited or under-represented in the fashion industry.
You can find the sources at the end of this entry.
